Support Members are adults who participate in making Sky Tavern happen but are not instructors. Support Members are parents that want to ski or snowboard. This pass gives you access to the lifts and gives you a chance to keep up with your kids on the slopes. Support members are required to volunteer 2 hours per day, helping in everything from the parking lot to the kitchen. We are all volunteers!

A Child of a Member MUST have an adult registered with them. Every child receives a 2-hour lesson (9am-11am) by a volunteer instructor. Every child must attend a lesson to have afternoon access to the lift.

SkyKids (4-5yr Old) must have at least one parent who participates in the program. Parents work one-on-one with another child with the help of Certified Instructors, while their child receives instruction from a different parent. This proven method is very successful at Sky Tavern. Every SkyKid has a SkyKid parent but the SkyKid parent can have more than one SkyKid.

This program is designed for the youngest adventurers (Ages 4-5). By the end of the season, most kids are really skiing/ Snowboarding. Must be 4 by December 31st, 2024. If the child turns 6 before the program starts, they are a Child of Member.
This membership requires at least 1 SkyKid Parent. Memberships will NOT be approved until this is completed.

The adaptive program needs more instructors! The instructor will receive specialized instruction from Certified Adaptive Instructors. This instructor teaches children accommodations (physical or mental disability). This fulfills the 2-hour volunteer requirement.

Adults 18 years of age and older, who wish to ride the bus and VOLUNTEER as adult supervisors. The Bus Supervisor checks kids in, in the morning and then checks the kids out in the afternoon. Sky Tavern must have at least 1 supervisor per school per day.
This pass allows lift access and includes adult lessons and fulfills the 2-hour volunteer requirement.

We can teach you to teach! Instructors teach kids (6+) for the 2 hr lesson in the morning. Instructors have lessons in the afternoon. In-person operations are provided before the season

To become a Jr. Instructor the child must be approved by the department head. Jr. Instructor shadows an instructor during the 2 hr morning lesson. They are required to attend afternoon training. Must be a level 6 or above.

Age U8-U18 Weekend Development Program
Coach Bender
As a member of the Tahoe League Race Series and USSA Far West, kids learn to carve gates. This membership includes a weekend season pass, a t-shirt, fleece, and a jacket rental. They also cover additional costs like early loads, equipment specifically for the Ski Team, ( if available) etc. To join the team, the child MUST be approved by the coach.
To enter a race, the racer will need to purchase a USSA membership, at usskiandsnowboard.org
