April 19, 2024

Thank you, Scott and Kait.

April 13/14, 2025. The end of the 2024 season at Sky Tavern.

Another season is over. A bit of a rough one weather-wise. More wind than usual and why the storms always came on the weekends was just not fair to kids. A late start, slow snow, and then a huge dump during the President's weekend saved the season but canceled the party. Kids learned more than snowsports, fun was had, lasting relationships formed.

You did your part and kept the reputation of Jr Ski way up high in the community. We never even stopped traffic on the highway! I hope memories were created, lasting memories for the kids and your family.

I usually go on and on way too much about the season in the end. I think you have had enough of my scrawl this year so I am going to break with tradition and simply share this sequence of pictures that pretty much sum up the feelings of the last weekend and saying goodbye.

Kyla wanted to surprise and thank SkyKid Dave. Dave deserved the hug, present, and more, as do the rest of you who helped raise the barn, the Sky Tavern Junior Ski Program 2024.

and you made them happy,

Thank you all,

Sky Tavern Gear Return Schedule

Time to start gathering up the rental gear since Colin starts getting it ready for next season almost as it comes back in the door. You can drop it off at Sky Tavern most weekdays if it needs to get out of the garage now. Please call the office first. Otherwise please get all the tape and stickers off of it all and Colin will be in town with truck and trailer at the following dates, times, and locations for pick-up.

  • Wednesday, May 8. 4-7 PM at McQueen High School
  • Thursday, May 9. 4-7 PM at Reed High School
  • Friday, May 10. 4-7 PM at Galena High School

If you need to hang on to it a little while longer because skiing at Palisades or Mammoth, no big deal. Just leave a message at the office of how long before we get it back.

Registration for the 2025 season is now open. While the world is getting more expensive each day, Sky Tavern is bucking the trend and holding prices the same as last season until this summer.

If spreading out some payments makes the choice to join back up easier, just contact Lythia in the office and she can set up a payment plan. It is no problem at all or click the class below to get started.

I hope you are coming back for 2025 but if you are a family "graduating " from Sky Tavern to one of the bigger resorts please tell them where you came from. It helps when I ask them for their leftovers! I just got off the phone with the owner of Mt.Rose. He loves Sky Tavern alumni. It's okay to move on.

Speak up, please

The only big questions I am asking in this end-of-season survey, are what did you do, what went right, what went wrong, and where do we go from here? Click the class below to answer, please.

Ownership comes with responsibility. This is your program and ski area. Being involved is good for the community.

Opening after the snow melts and trail maintenance happens. Skills classes coming for all ages. Open those emails from Sky for more info.
