Kicking it for Labor Day Weekend

Just a really fast touch-base email. There is a lot going on this Labor Day Weekend, and the weekend after and weekend after that. More later.

Richard still has some spots to fill for serving at the Rib Cook-Off. Pouring beer and lemonade is the annual fundraiser for Sky Tavern University, which is scholarships. You are going to get the ribs no matter what and let's face it, the biggest stresser is parking. Double up on finding that spot big enough for the F250 and help Sky, then get those ribs.

Thank you, group.

Email Richard to find a spot in a Sky Tavern booth.

Labor Day Weekend at BOBOS is the jumpstart to the winter season. MORE www.bobos.com

Labor Day Weekend at Bobos, a Sky Tavern tradition.

This is why you want to come down to sign up Thursday through Monday at Bobos.

  • Lowest prices for the 2024 Jr Ski season. Prices go up in the middle of September. Fair warning.
  • A coupon from Bobos for $25 good on a $50 single-item purchase. Buy something you don't need but.
  • To see Lythia if you want a payment plan.
  • Bounce House (kids only, Dad. Get out of there)
  • Free Snow cones. (What I get to do for 5 days)
  • Food Trucks Saturday and Sunday.
  • See the friends you made last winter in shorts.
  • Maybe tell the Truckee Meadows how great Sky Tavern is on the radio with KOZZ's Max Volume.
  • Steve is fun to talk to, Mary is much sweeter and then there's Theron.
  • To see who lost rock, paper, scissors and gets to do the late shift until 6.
  • Everything is on sale. Sometimes you have to search a little but there is something very cool you always wanted under the tent.
  • Only 113 days until winter. (You have got to see this website here. Who makes this stuff?)
  • To tell new families why this is the best thing to do for their kids. Come help talk Sky up, please! It is much better coming from you.
  • We are going to need someone to run over and get lunch. Seriously.
  • Sand Harbor is full of tourists.

Come by and say hi even if you have not made it home from Burning Man.

Snow is coming,

Bill

Found this picture on Facebook. Having road-raced cars for years I found this a true representation of my mixed passions and some of my poor ideas. The Italian Ski Team, so it all started with "Hold my vino and watch this", yet probably worked to get the downhillers faster. The Swedish team used Saabs, Germans a Porsche.

Last word

Board Member Tony Santo's RGJ obituary can be found here. I miss his pressure of making me do my best. I miss the guy that "got it." Done with tears.
